Prototype for Mini Jam 176: Foxes

Limitation: Flipping a coin as a mechanic

Time limit: 3 Days

How To Play:

  • Player always goes first
    • Player coins have white edges, Player 2 (npc) coins have black edges.
  • There are 2 phases: Flip and Attack:
    • Flip - Lasts 10 seconds, during this time you can flip your coin.
    • Attack - The coin uses their attack.
      • Attacks won't trigger unless at the attack frame the coin is horizonal for attack calculation.
      • Some projectiles have a max and min range.
  • Coin Effects:
    • Red - Shoots a projectile dealing 20 damage to opposing coin, knocks up all coins near impact.
    • Green - Deals 10 damage to all nearby opposing coin, heals all nearby team coins for 5, knocks back enemies and knocks itself into the air.
    • Blue - Shoots a projectile dealing 15 damage to opposing coin, knocks up only opposing coins near impact.
  • Tips:
    • Coins get nudged when flipped in the direction of the camera, use this to your advantage in order to position coins strategically.
    • Even though coins need to be flat for the attacks to trigger, there is some cases where attacks can fire mid flip.
    • Coins can get flipped during the attack phase and change their attack.

Controls:

  • LMB
    • Click - Flip coin
    • Hold - Charges up selected coin and rotates the camera
    • Release - Launch selected coin
  • Mouse Wheel:
    • Scroll - Zoom
    • Hold and Move - Super Zoom
  • RMB
    • Hold - Camera strafe
